Industry 4.0 in practice – The digital twins and simulation
EPIC InnoLabs and the Institute of Informatics of Corvinus University of Budapest are organizing a series of research seminars with the support of the Industry 4.0 National Technology Platform (NTP) and the EU Horizon 2020 ConnectedFactories Project.
The second event will take place on December 7th at 3pm at MS Teams.

The key to increase competitiveness is the optimization of extremely complex production and logistics systems. Congestion analysis of the modeled system, investigation of the “what-if-if” type of behavior in an uncertain environment (eg failures, sequence change, uncertain operation time, etc.), demonstration of the effect of the planned system expansion
In general, continuous process improvement, key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality improvement play an important role in the life of any manufacturing company. Balancing the workload of operators, scheduling relocations, expanding complete factory investments or machinery and equipment, deliveries of raw materials or finished goods due to increased customer demands: in most cases, the development, design and implementation tasks associated with these projects are a heavy resource burden.
The topic of the seminar is the theoretical and practical issues of simulation modeling and production optimization. Our presentation will focus on the application of state-of-the-art tool system (s) that address the above challenges, whether they are production-specific tasks within the company’s walls or tasks outside the company that affect the entire logistics network.
